In memory of Fe Love

When I first met Felecia (Fe Love) Lenee Williams, it was at a Wealthy Visionaries Conference in Los Angeles in 2014. We didn’t get wealthy but we sure were visionaries! I had 30 years experience with social justice art impacting legislation, teaching and at PBS, and she had the most incredible magnetic joy and compassionate vision I think I had ever experienced.

First she worked with me as the Director of Youth Programs and Creative Strategist for the national Posts for Peace and Justice Project. Then we formed Compassionate Arts in Action so we could include more art forms and more partnerships. I mentored her and she taught me.

Even without money, we followed our dreams. In addition to all the things we did in Pasadena and Los Angeles, we had projects with Refugees, Immigrants, Climate and Environment, and Youth Mental Health.  We traveled to  the U.S. Human Rights Network in Atlanta, the United Nations Association in Washington DC, Art to Change the World in Minneapolis and the Compassionate Capital Region in Sacramento. As leaders Compassionate California, and The Charter for Compassion reaching nationally and internationally.

Felecia was ALWAYS telling me to say Compassionate Arts in Action, because her dream was to make us a 501-C3 nonprofit and to have an Arts and Culture Organization where all our programs about health, safety and justice could grow. I am committed to continue this dream.
